Zulkefly's involvement in Interior Design began in 1980 as he joined a San Francisco based interior design consultant, Bent Severin and Associates. In his debut in the arena, Zulkefly was involved with several prestigious projects such as the Pantai Primula Hotel, Terengganu, Istana Negara and Sri Perdana - the Prime Minister's Residence.
In 1984, Zulkefly then joined Kumpulan Akitek Sdn Bhd where he gained his experince and expertise in space planning, hospitality design and residential design. PWTC Convention Centre was one of his hallmark assertions during his lengthy period of service in the consultant firm.
Zulkefly rejoined Bent Severin and Associates in 1993 when he was offered to captain the interior design of the prestigious Rennaissance Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and Berjaya Georgetown Hotel, Penang.
Determined to establish his own credentials in the Interior Design arena, Zulkefly set up his own consultation service, Positive by Design in 1997.
